Day Three - by Jaiden and Imogen

Day 3 in the Phillipines and the group was divided in half. One of the groups went to the Apostolate to paint the women's living area. The other group renovated a house near the Brothers' compound. To renovate the house we re-cemented the walls and floor. We had to help with the concrete, which was difficult and exhausting. It was worth it though for the beautiful smiles on the faces of the people in the street. Whilst renovating we were approached by the children in the streets. We were able to give them gifts and play games with them. At the end of the day they all came out, shouted goodbye and waved to us. They even chased the truck as we drove home waving goodbye.

As we arrived at the Apostolate to paint the women's living area, we were greeted with big beautiful smiles and a lovely vibe. We had to help with gathering the painting equipment, as we were about to start painting a woman pulled Kaid aside to give him a necklace that she had made, Kaid offered to give it back but she refused insisting that he keep it.  As we were painting, we were greeted with enthusiasm by the Brothers who also helped us with painting. As we continued painting late in the afternoon we couldn't help but think about how sore our arms were, but it was the thought of how we were making these women happier and improving their living space a little that made it worth the effort. As we left we were waved goodbye by the beautiful women, as they shouted out goodbye.

God has called you all to be Missionaries and you are all doing so wonderfully!
You are all making lasting impressions in all those you meet. Working hard, a smile, a hug....You are showing that you really care...that they really matter.
Most importantly.....you are saying "yes" to Jesus.
    God keep you safe always.
