Day Four - Zoe and Kaid

Day 4 started with the usual morning mass. Off to breakfast then the preparations for the day ahead. The two groups then set off to their work areas.

We arrived at the Apostolate where we were greeted by the brothers and women of the section. With smiles on our faces we knew there was to be a great day ahead. The painting went well, everyone was involved and worked as a team while having fun. We came back for a delicious lunch and headed back to the site. Then came the rain. As the other group could not work at the building site in the rain, they joined us in painting the Apostolate. We were heavily entertained by the brothers singing and riddles with Mr Corboy to get us through the day.

As we arrived at the building site we met the brothers with whom we would be working and the owners of the building we were renovating. We began with mixing cement in the heat. While everyone was working, some of us came back to the borothers' house to gather more supplies. When we got back to the building site we saw all the children playing with the girls. On our way back from lunch, the heavy rain and lightning delayed our building. We were still able to get all of the supplies onto the truck and unload the truck in the middle of a thunderstorm. We were soaking wet but everyone was still happy. After this, we had to join the painters for the rest of the day.

Overall it was a great day with many new experiences and much laughter.

  1. When you guys come back I might see Mr Nuttall about getting you all to paint the MPH ... sounds like you might be able to start your own Painting company.
